Bali Malas seeks to enact positive change in the world through several approaches. First, through the propagation of mediation/prayer aids, called malas. All our malas contain sacred “rudraksha seeds” and specific gemstones and metals. Rudraksha’s have historically been ascribed to induce peacefulness, fulfillment and calming among their wearers.

The gemstones and metals used in the malas are also historically associated with different properties which they convey to the wearer. Every mala contains a scroll detailing the unique properties of that mala. More meditation = individual fulfillment = world peace.

Secondly, our malas are sustainably harvested and assembled by indigenous Indonesians. The incomes derived by producing these provides a sustainable, low impact means of making a living for dozens of economically disadvantaged peoples.

Finally, Bali Malas donates 10% of its profits to the Healthy Mother Earth Foundation ( www.bumisehatbali.org ). Healthy Mother Earth Foundation is a not for profit organization of committed families, teachers, midwives, doctors, nurses and caring citizens from many countries. Advocating for the reproductive rights of displaced, marginalized, low- income women, of all cultures and their children.

In Bali they are achieving a higher standard of maternal and child health through culturally sensitive prenatal, postpartum, birth services and the support of breast feeding. They work hand in hand with communities in order to establish sustainable health care, educational projects, and HIV/ AIDS prevention programs. In this way we nurture a more peaceful world on a grassroots level.
